1. Can I send a message to a Google Talk user using Chikka Messenger v.3?
No. You will need to download and install the new version of Chikka Messenger v.4 here.

2. Can I use the Java client to send a message to a Google Talk user?
No. We are still upgrading our current Java client to support Google Talk interconnection. We will inform you through our website when this is available.

Adding Buddies

3. How do I add a Google user from my Chikka Messenger?
a. Click the SEND MESSAGE button in your Chikka Messenger.
b. The SEND MESSAGE window will appear.
c. Input the GMAIL address of your Google Talk buddy and click OK.
d. You will receive a confirmation message: “Your add buddy request has been sent to <username>@gmail.com. You will be informed once your friend accepts your invitation. Thank you.”
e. Once an invitation is pending, there will be a “Waiting for Approval” bar in your Chikka buddy list on top of the ONLINE bar.
f. When an invitation is accepted, a system message widow will pop up informing user that the invitation was accepted.
g. At the same time, the VIEW PROFILE window will pop up where you can assign a screen name to your Google Talk buddy.
h. Once you assign a screen name, the name of your Google Talk buddy will be included under the ONLINE or IDLE bar depending on his/her status.

4. How do I add a Chikka user from Google Talk?
a. Click ADD FRIEND.
b. The “Invite your friends…” window will pop up where you can input the email address of the person you want to invite.
c. To invite Chikka users, type <Chikka ID>@chikkatalk.com (Ex. 00123456@chikkatalk.com or 639171234567@chikkatalk.com).
d. The confirmation window will appear. Your Chikka buddy should already appear in your Google Talk buddy list.
e. Simply double-click buddy name to send a message.

5. What if the Chikka buddy I am adding from Google Talk is offline?
If you are adding a PC only account, the invite message will be received by your Chikka buddy when he goes online and you will be automatically added to his Chikka buddy List.

If you are adding a unified/mobile account, the invite message will be received by your Chikka buddy on his mobile phone and you will be automatically added to his Chikka buddy List when he goes online.

6. How do I send a message from Chikka Messenger to Google Talk?
a. There are 3 ways that a Chikka user can send a message:
i. Click OPTIONS-Send Message.
ii. Double-click Google Talk buddy name in your buddy list.
iii. Select a buddy, right-click, and click Send Message.
b. If Chikka user uses option A, the ADD BUDDY window will appear where Chika user can select a buddy.
c. If Chikka user uses option B or C, the SEND MESSAGE window will appear.
d. Simply type your message in the message window and click ENTER or click the buttons available whether you want to send via PC or mobile.

7. How do I send a message from Google Talk to Chikka Messenger?
a. There are 2 ways that a Google Talk user can send a message:
i. Double-click Chikka buddy name in your Google Talk buddy list.
ii. Select a buddy, right-click, and click "Chat with <buddy name>".
b. The messaging window will appear where you can type your message and click ENTER.

8. Is there a limit when sending a message from Google Talk to Chikka Messenger?
There is no limit for PC to PC messaging. There is a limit however on PC to mobile messaging since messages are forwarded to the mobile phone when the user offline. The credit system per mobile carrier applies below:

Deleting Buddies

9. How do I delete a Google Talk buddy?
Simply right-click a Google Talk buddy from your buddy list and select DELETE BUDDY option.

10. What will happen if I delete the Google Talk buddy from my buddy list and that Google Talk user sends me another message?
You will receive the message and you will be prompted to assign a screen name for this user. If you do not want to receive any more messages from this user, you can block him from the Chikka Messenger.

Blocking Buddies

11. How do I block a Google Talk buddy?
Simply right-click a Google Talk buddy from your buddy list and select BLOCK THIS BUDDY option.

12. What will happen if I block the Google Talk buddy from my buddy list and that Google Talk user sends me another message?
You will not receive the message. Simply re-add him to your Chikka buddy List if you want to unblock and receive messages from this Google Talk user.

13. How do I block a Google Talk user from sending me messages to my mobile phone?
When you receive a message from any Google Talk user, simply reply with the word BLOCK to stop this user from sending you more messages.

Others

14. Can I change the screen name of my Google Talk buddy?
Yes you can. Just click once the Google Talk buddy name on the buddy list and press F2. Or you can right-click a Google Talk buddy from your buddy list and select CHANGE SCREEN NAME option. Take note that you cannot change your Google Talk buddy's screen name if he has not accepted your invitation and is still under the WAITING FOR APPROVAL bar.

15. Can I send MMS to my Google Talk buddy?
No you cannot. Sending and receiving MMS is allowed only for Chikka to Chikka transactions.
